Change in communication methods

Important!, Medical

Please let us know your email

We are reducing the volume of text messages (SMS) we are sending.

We hope now to communicate with you , where relevant, via email.  This may be preferred by you for documents, referrals, and may be less intrusive than SMS.  Please let us know an active email address where possible

We also seek to use the NHS app:  it is the quickest and easiest way to request medication and view your results and record, and can also be used for messaging.

Let us know if you do not consent to any of these methods.  We do not share your contact details with third parties

Vaccine update Autumn 2024

Important!, Medical

Protect yourself and your family/ community

From October 3rd 2024 we are offering flu vaccine to eligible adults.  Pregnant women can have vaccine earlier if they wish.  We have vaccine in stock.  Flu vaccination is recommended for those who are most at risk of serious complications if they get flu. For adults this includes everyone aged 65 years and over, pregnant women, and those with certain long-term health conditions. Flu can be a serious illness in these people and the vaccine offers the best protection.  Further info is here:  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/flu-vaccination-who-should-have-it-this-winter-and-why

We also are offering RSV vaccine (against bronchiolitis and pneumonia)  to those age 75-79.   Further info here

We aren't offering covid vaccination at the practice..  There is a national booking system here  ,  or dial 119 , or check with your local pharmacy, as some are offering.

If you think you may have incomplete childhood vaccinations,  eg you did not have 2x MMR,  then ask us to check your records.  We have all routine childhood vaccines in stock.  Reception staff can help

Online Record Access for patients

Important!, Medical

We have for some years offered online access to records via the NHS App / NHS login. We hope that this enhances your care.  From June 1st 2024 more will be visible to you on your NHS App,  if you have already activated this. We have made exceptions to this roll-out where there might be a risk of harm.  Beware that there may be medical terminology or abbreviations which do not make sense.  We are obliged to redact any consultations with references to third parties . It is on offer to patients age 16 and over. Read on to find out more. For under 11s, it is possible for parents or guardians to get “proxy access” . Between age 11 and 16 it is more complicated, and an ethical approach is needed. We need to respect the confidentiality of the young person, whilst often they would wish their parents/ guardians to be involved in their care.  Any questions,  please ask reception/ admin staff.
